<p>OK, first I'm going to admit this is a rather subjective issue.  The Caffeine Free Drinks I think tastes best may not be the one you think tastes best but . . . We're gonna give it a go anyway.  I actually like the taste of water myself.</p>
<p>But first lets look at some reason why you'd want to give up caffeine in the first place.  There are a lot of reasons to give up caffeine.  The original question that had me thinking about giving up caffeine was from a young woman who had recently found out she was pregnant.  </p>
<p>Most doctors recommend you do away with caffeine while you're pregnant for the safety of your unborn child.  One of the reasons is because caffeine crosses the placenta to your baby.  So when you have caffeine, your baby has caffeine.  </p>
<p>But that caffeine we love so much is a stimulant - it increases blood pressure and heart rate. It also works as a diuretic, increasing the frequency of urination and dehydrating the body.   So for starters, if you're drinking soda because you're thirsty, you're going to get even more thirsty - rather than less.  </p>
<p>Notice how all the diets you find tell you to give up caffeine?  Your body needs fluid to burn that fat and to remove the toxins you build up when you burn the fat.  If you are dehydrated, you can't lose weight very well.  </p>
<p>But sometimes you just want a soda.  Sometimes you just need something that makes you feel like you're not completely deprived of all the things you once loved.  So which one tastes best?</p>
<p>My first choice would be a soda that never had caffeine in it in the first place.  Like a Sprite or 7-Up.  I like Fresca, which is a diet drink so it would be unsuitable for anyone who is pregnant, but these drinks all taste good for the very occasional soda.  Sparkling (carbonated) flavored water is also a great choice.  The brand La Croix is a favorite of many - and there are a ton of flavors. </p>
<p>Both Coke and Pepsi have caffeine free choices, though I'll have to admit without the caffeine these two giants lose their punch.  To me, I'd rather have water than either of these.  But that's just my opinion.  There may be others out there who love these two as caffeine free.</p>
<p>There are also caffeine free Root Beers.  Many have said these are quite good and if you like Root Beer, this might be an option as well.  And of course decaffeinated coffee is a good choice too.  Naturally decaffeinated coffee would be best but remember, decaffeinated coffees still have a little residual caffeine in them.

<p>And while I wouldn't recommend eating these bars on a regular basis, I call them my emergency bars and only have them when I have little or no other option, such as when I'm traveling or some last minute emergency won't allow me to have a proper meal.</p>

<p>About one in three people are adversely affected by changes in altitude, and are in danger of suffering some form of mountain sickness. And though it is usually not dangerous, it can be and may even be fatal if you fail to recognize the signs and take appropriate action.  </p>
<p>The first thing you should know is the symptoms.  Mountain sickness usually includes headache, nausea and lethargy.  It’s not unlike having a nasty hangover from alcohol.  Because the air pressure is less, your body is having difficulty gaining the amount of oxygen it needs to function properly and must become accustom to the decreased amount available.   </p>
<p>In addition, because the air is usually drier at the elevated heights, you become dehydrated much more easily and there are some heights at which your body will have a reduced amount of nutrient absorption.  </p>
<p>There are more severe symptoms such as loss of coordination, breathlessness and mental confusion which are beyond the scope of this post, and should you find you are suffering from any of these you should get to a lower elevation and get immediate medical attention.  But we are going to assume we’re all talking about simple Mountain Sickness.</p>
<p>If you are one of the ‘lucky third’ who finds acclimatizing less than a snap, here are a few things you should do to help decrease the time it takes for you to be your old lovable self:</p>
<ul>
<li>
Load up on carbohydrate foods before you leave, and continue to priorities them when you're at higher altitude.  </li>
<li>Drier air means you're at more risk of dehydration at high altitude. Drink more water!</li>
<li>Your body will need more calories than normal. Remember, it has to work harder to extract the oxygen you need.  Add on extra carbohydrate foods and snacks.</li>
<li>Eat smaller, more frequent meals which allows for more constant fuel for your body, while not increasing your digestive burdens on the body.</li>
<li>Proteins are more difficult for your body to digest.  Eat more starchy and sweet foods.  While you are acclimating is not the time for low-carb dieting.</li>
<li>Vitamin E (tocotrienol), branch-chain amino acid supplements and digestion enzymes at each meal may be helpful.</li>
<li>Eat less salt.  Salt will make you retain fluid and make your body work harder to stay oxygenated and hydrated.</li>
<li>Don't drink alcohol.  Alcohol dehydrates the body and being your body is having difficulty in this area to begin with, try to avoid making things worse.</li>
<li>Until your body becomes acclimatized, try to avoid strenuous exercise or putting any undue stress on the heart or lungs.  </li>

<p>That means you've got to find a reliable eating plan that will both nourish your body while reducing that pot-belly and those love handles. Finding reliable weight lose information can be an absolutely discouraging endeavor since there are quite literally hundreds of weight loss plans on the market today that make all types of preposterous claims.</p>
<p>First, you need to find a healthy plan you can stick to.   To reduce your overall body fat and keep it off, you need to find a healthy eating plan. It's tempting, when you're trying to lose weight, to skip meals to reduce your caloric intake, but a better--and easier--way to cut calories is to find a reliable diet that fits your tastes and lifestyle; one you can adopt for life.  So to prevent or reduce excess weight around the abdomen, or wherever you're genetically predisposed to deposit it, you need a healthy diet.</p>
<p>Compare the different diets based on the type foods you enjoy, and the ones you already know pack on the pounds now. Don't be tempted by plans offering huge weight loss over a short period of time.  A plan offering fast results is usually not a healthy one, and you want a plan you can stick with for the rest of your life.  You want a healthy diet that will keep the weight off.</p>
<p>Once you start losing body fat, you can firm up your body by exercising. The main thing to remember though is that spare tires and pot-bellies indicate too much body fat. And losing body fat is the best (read only) way to get rid of love handles and to get rid of belly fat.</p>
<p>If you want to lose weight then find the right diet for you, and then get up off the couch and go for a walk, take a ride on your bike, or go to the gym. When you maintain a healthy diet and institute a regular cardiovascular workout routine, your love handles and belly fat will gradually reduce without any particular special exercise to get rid of them. So, there you have it: the skinny on how to get rid of love handles and belly fat.</p>

<p>The truth is, there are a lot of very healthy diets out there.  And unless you have some underlying health issues that require you eat a certain type diet, probably the best  all round diet on the market today is the <a title="The Mediterranean Diet" href="http://www.top10-diets.com/mediterranean-diet/">Mediterranean Diet</a>.</p>
<p>The Mediterranean Diet is high in fruits and vegetables, low fat meat, fish and complex carbohydrates.  And research shows the Mediterranean Diet excels at maintaining your blood sugar at constant levels.  And for those of you who are saying my blood sugar is fine, I'm not worried about it.    It's those spikes in your blood sugar and consequently your insulin levels that make you so doggone hungry.</p>

<p>Ok, you know you need to be on a diet - I mean you really know you need to be on a diet, but this is about the 50th time this year you've started and you just can't stick to it.    What can you do to stick to your diet, get the weight off and keep it off?</p>
<p>Dieting can be tricky, even for the most disciplined of us and sticking to a diet can take all the willpower you have.    So it's best <strong>not</strong> to go on a diet.    It's much better by far to make small but healthy changes to your diet and lifestyle that will accomplish the same thing - and make you healthier in the process.</p>
<p>One of the main reasons we grab junk food is not because we really “need” it or that we are necessarily hungry it’s because our blood sugar is low and our body knows that carbohydrates (sugars) will do a quick job of restoring our levels.   So we crave carbohydrates and we grab the most convenient thing available and that's usually not all that healthy.</p>
<p>So rather than waiting for your blood sugar to crash and the resulting cravings to begin, start eating a healthy snack every 2 hours.    Apples, Carrots, broccoli, etc., will do the trick.    Yes, I realize this sounds difficult, and at first it probably is.    But this is the healthy way to maintain your body and your weight - and after all this is about being healthy.</p>
<p>Then, the next time you are tempted to eat something not-so-good-for-you, remind yourself that you're really not hungry, your brain is just telling you that your blood sugar is a little low and you should eat a carrot or half an apple.</p>
<p>Cut out soft drinks and sweets (it’s okay to have occasional treats).  Try eating more fiber.      A healthy diet requires 30 to 35 grams of fiber a day.   Change your bread choice to 100% whole wheat bread - double fiber if you can find it.   These small changes will make a huge difference.</p>
<p>Then get moving.    Exercise.   Run if you can, or take part in a club sport, ride a bike, join a team or health club.    Anything that will get you moving.    Exercise will do a lot to burn off those calories, but more than that, it will boost your metabolism for the next 12 to 24 hours after.</p>
<p>You goal should be to make small changes to your diet that are healthy and that you can live with for the rest of your life.   If you diet simply to lose weight, chances are you will be in the same predicament this time next year.    And make sure those around you (including your family) know about your plan to eat a healthy diet so they can encourage you and support your efforts.</p>
