Dr. Richard K. Bernstein serves up his markedly innovative low-carbohydrate approach to diabetes care which makes it possible for his followers to regulate their blood sugar without the seemingly enevitable wild fluctuations.
The Diabetes Diet is a reduced carbohydrate diet. The diet proceeds in two phases - with the first and strictest phase, designed to stabilize blood sugar. The second phase is a healthy eating plan for life - consisting of low carbohydrate and low glycemic index foods.

This diet works well for anyone wanting to lower their risk of developing type 2 diabetes or those who currently have diabetes and want to reduce their need for diabetes drugs.

The Diabetes Diet encourages foods such as lean meats of any type in phase one, and nuts and low glycemic fruits and vegetables. Add plenty of water to help flush away impurities and you have a very effective low carb diet plan.
The Diabetes plan follows recipes that are low-carbohydrate and reduced-fat; with an emphasis on the way each meal impacts blood sugar. This way of preparing and serving food means less hunger so less snacking in between meals, and less temptation to follow-up with desserts.
